What are Implant Supported Dentures?

Dentures are removable dental appliances made to replace missing teeth and the surrounding tissue. Implant supported dentures, unlike traditional dentures, are held in place by implants anchored in the jaw bone. The implants are made of titanium, a metal that is well suited for adaption to the body.

Why use Implant Supported Dentures?

Your gums and jaw bone is ever changing, due to age, smoking, and disease. Due to shrinking gums traditional dentures have a tendency to shift and not fit properly. Implant supported dentures allow for a the denture appliance to be securely attached to the gums through the implants.

How long will the treatment take?

The entire process will take a few months to complete.

Step 1: Dr. King will place the titanium implant into your jaw bone. It will take three to six months for the jaw bone to fuse around the implant.

Step 2: Dr. King will add an extension or post to the implant to extend the implant above your gum line.

Step 3: Once your gums have healed Dr. King design and fit your final dentures.
